Benefits Planning & Advising

Benefits Planning is a service that helps people understand how employment and other life decisions will impact their benefits.

Your benefits planner will work with you to develop a personalized plan to help you reach your employment goals and build self-sufficiency.

Benefits planning is available as a stand-alone service, or in combination with other employment services through the Ticket to Work Program.

Ticket to Work

The Ticket to Work (TTW) Program is a service that supports you in preparing to work, job searching, maintaining employment, and increase earnings while reducing reliance on cash benefits.

This program may a good fit for you if you are between the ages of 18-64, are interested in returning to work or increasing work hours and have a goal of working your way off of cash benefits and achieving self-sufficiency.

Benefits of this program include allowing you to try working without risk of losing your cash benefits from Social Security in case that employment does not work out for you. It will also stop the initiation of Continuing Disability Reviews (CDRs) by the SSA as long as you are meeting the Timely Progress Guidelines.

There are requirements beneficiaries will have by the program including keeping and sharing letters to and from SSA, providing accurate information, keeping meetings with Employment Network staff, reporting wages, and submitting paystubs.

Benefits planning will be included in this employment service.

VR Partnership Plus

If you've found a job during your VR services, your State VR agency may close your case approximately 90 days after you start working. When State VR services end, many people find that they need continuing support to help them keep their job and increase their earnings over time. This arrangement, known as Partnership Plus, gives Ticket program participants continued access to individualized employment services, if needed. After State VR services have ended, you can assign your Ticket to an EN of your choice to receive these additional services.
